Victoria Beckham is making her first public comments about her family estrangement.

If you did not see, in January, David and Victoria‘s eldest son Brooklyn released a lengthy statement about his family issues and explained why he doesn’t want to repair his broken relationship with famous parents.

In a new profile for WSJ. Magazine, Victoria shared, “I think that we’ve always—we love our children so much.”

“We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be,” she continued. “And you know, we’ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that’s all I really want to say about it.”

Victoria and David have largely stayed silent on the estrangement, but rumors that there had been a rift had been ongoing for quite some time.
