An Oregon man and his family were peacefully resting in their home when all of a sudden he heard a massive crash.

What he found when he rushed downstairs was unlike anything he could have imagined, and he might still have trouble believing it. However, the moment that a massive truck flew roughly 100 feet through the air before crashlanding in his bathroom was all caught on camera.

David Brudnok told KGW8 that the first floor of his home in Tigard had been destroyed after a “flying truck” landed inside of it on Friday (February 13).

According to press release from the Tigard Police Department, the crash happened around 3 a.m. after they’d received calls about a driver who was “driving recklessly and speeding.”

“Officers believe he was heading westbound on SW Schools Ferry Road, hit a dirt mount on the side of the road and launched roughly 100 feet into the air and over a 3-foot brick wall before crashing into the side of the house,” the release read.

First responders found the driver and a passenger inside the car, both of whom were rescued by Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue before being treated at the hospital for “minor injuries.”

While Brudnok and his family were totally uninjured, police said their home was “significant[ly] damaged.”

The driver — identified as 33-year-old Jacob Hankins — was charged with reckless driving and recklessly endangering,” police said.

The Tigard Police Department shared footage of the shocking moment that the car soared through the sky before hitting the home, which they received from a neighbor’s security camera.

Brudnok told KGW8 that his family had all safely been upstairs at the time of the incident.

“I just heard this, BOOM! And the house shakes… I get down the stairs, and I realize the whole front of my house is completely just gone,” he recalled.

Speaking to KOIN 6 News, he added that his wife had still been awake knitting, saying that he “heard her start screaming my name.”

The truck landed in a first-floor bathroom. Photos from the scene show that it absolutely destroyed the exterior walls.

Due to the extensive damages, the family is currently living out of a hotel. Brundok told KOIN 6 News that they were determining if the damages would be covered by insurance.

Despite the challenges associated with the incident, the homeowner was grateful for one thing, telling, KGW8, “I thank God that everyone was upstairs when it happened.”
