Olivia Rodrigo just dropped new music, so fans are naturally going to be wanting to know the inspiration behind the song.

The 23-year-old Grammy-winning singer previously dated Enola Holmes actor Louis Partridge for more than two years, but it was reported back in December 2025 that they broke up.

Olivia reportedly told friends about her breakup while attending Lily Allen‘s holiday party.

“They made such a lovely couple so people who know them were shocked when they heard,” a source told The Sun for a story published on December 21, 2025.

“It’s not been the easiest few weeks for them and they decided it’s better to be apart for now,” the insider added. “Olivia was at Lily’s party and emotional when she was talking about it. Her friends have rallied around her but it’s just been pretty rough. It’s really sad right now.”

Olivia has never commented on the breakup rumors, but she is now linked to a new guy after stepping out for the first time together in April 2026.

In an interview to promote her music comeback, Olivia also alluded to her relationship with her former British boyfriend.

“I’ve found a lot of inspiration from being in London,” Olivia told British Vogue. “I’ve spent so much time here over the course of making this album. It has a lot of songs that are London vibes, about experiences that I’ve had here.”
