WWE has scheduled the premiere edition of RAW on Netflix for January 6 in Los Angeles at the Intuit Dome. As the flagship show transitions from television to a streaming platform, WWE aims to make a major impact on this historic night.

WWE Superstars such as John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Bianca Belair, and others have already been announced to appear. With the excitement building for the Netflix debut, rapper Travis Scott will also join the show.

The promotion has confirmed several exciting matches, including a grudge match between Drew McIntyre and Jey Uso. The Women’s World Title match will witness Liv Morgan go up against Rhea Ripley.

Simultaneously, the Tribal Combat match between Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa will be one of the event’s major highlights. Also, the main event features CM Punk and Seth Rollins, who have had a heated personal rivalry for years.

While the show is already packed with action, recent reports reveal that WWE initially planned another huge match, but has now been removed from the lineup. Dakota Kai was set to face Lyra Valkyria to crown the inaugural WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion. However, that match is no longer scheduled for the show.

WWE shifts Dakota Kai vs. Lyra Valkyria match off RAW

Recent reports from WrestleVotes Backstage Pass reveal the reason WWE decided to pull the Dakota Kai vs. Lyra Valkyria match from the show. WWE opted to move the Women’s Intercontinental Championship finals to avoid overshadowing. This is because of the high-profile matches already scheduled for the premiere.

WWE aims to give the Women’s Intercontinental Championship a strong, impactful debut and decided that including it on a show as packed as the Netflix premiere would not allow it to receive the attention it deserves.

WWE shifted the finals of the Women’s Intercontinental Championship Tournament (Dakota Kai vs. Lyra Valkyria) off of the #WWERaw on Netflix debut in-order for the match to not get “lost in the shuffle.”

This decision comes as bad news for Dakota Kai and Lyra Valkyria. It makes sense, considering the already announced high-profile matches. Fans are also speculating that The Rock, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair could make their return to the show.
