WWE's Brock Lesnar Seemingly Retires During WrestleMania 42

Brock Lesnar‘s time in the WWE appears to be over.

During the second night of WrestleMania 42 on Sunday (April 19) held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, the 48-year-old pro wrestler, and former MMA fighter, seemingly retired from the sport following his match against Oba Femi, which ended in less than five minutes.

Keep reading to find out more…In a video shared on WWE’s official Instagram after the match, Lesnar was seen sitting inside the ring by himself as he removed his boots and gloves before symbolically placing them in the ring’s center.

Wrestlers “often signal their retirement by leaving their shoes on the mat following their final bout,” per NBC.

As Lesner stood up, he was met by loud applause and roaring from the crowd. He became emotional as he held his hands up in the air, which caused the crowd to cheer louder. His manager Paul Heyman then stepped into the ring as Lesnar walked around, soaking up the atmosphere.

After embracing, Heyman whispered something into Lesnar‘s ear, kissed his cheek, and affectionately patted his head.

As Lesnar began to cry even more, Heyman raised the wrestler’s arm high into the air and encouraged more applause from the audience before Lesnar took a bow.

Throughout his 25+ year career, Lesnar has been named a three-time universal champion and UFC heavyweight champion.

Find out where Brock Lesnar ranks on the list of the richest MMA fighters in the world.
