Zach Bryan was “forced” to cancel a show for the first time in his career.

The 30-year-old singer took to Instagram on Friday (April 3) to explain to his fans why his Tulsa, Okla. concert at H.A. Chapman Stadium had to be canceled.

“I am being forced by team to cancel the show tonight due to the threat of extreme and dangerous weather,” he said in his statement. “I’ve never canceled a show in my life but I unfortunately don’t have a choice in the matter.”

Zach also posted a screenshot of a text exchange with his team.

The unnamed sender texted him saying, “I know you’re gonna hate me for this, but we have no choice but to cancel the show.”

They explained that they had a meeting with “the police, school, and meteorologists,” all of whom came to the consensus that they would be risking everyone’s safety if the show went on due to conditions being favorable for severe storms with winds capable of getting higher than 60 mph.

“Are you kidding,” the musician texted back.

The rest of his statement provides details on how people can get refunded for their tickets, along with contact information for customer service at the ticketing office.

He added that his Saturday show is proceeding as planned.

In the caption of his post, Zach wrote, “5 years of touring I’ve never cancelled a headlining show. I pissed off plenty people this morning trying to ‘play anyways’ If I had ANY say in this, things would be different I apologize and I love all of ya.”
