In a match destined by fate — or the proclivities of parents to choose common names for their children — Steve Jackson Games has launched a crowdfunding campaign for new editions of five titles from the long-lived Fighting Fantasy solo gamebook series that debuted in 1982 with the publication of The Warlock of Firetop Mountain from designers Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson...but not the Steve Jackson who founded Steve Jackson Games. No, that's British designer Steve Jackson who co-founded Games Workshop with Livingstone and John Peake.

The other four books being reprinted are:

• Deathtrap Dungeon, by Livingstone
• City of Thieves, by Livingstone
• The Citadel of Chaos, by Jackson
• The Forest of Doom, by Livingstone

Steve Jackson Games states that as much as possible it's using the original art in these new editions, and it plans to release more books in this series, with these first five expected to be available in mid-2025.
