“Ooh, shiny!” is exactly what I said when I saw Jennifer Lopez's latest Instagram post. After briefly admiring her chic leather beret, my focus immediately shifted to her manicure—a set so blindingly glossy, you could probably see your reflection in it.

The mani popped up in a cute set of selfies where the superstar poses in a long-sleeved leotard, patterned tights, and the aforementioned leather beret. She holds her phone with a set of ultra-shiny nails crafted by manicurist Tom Bachik, who has been on hand to sculpt her manis for the entire “Up All Night” summer tour. They're chrome, but they're chrome to the max, with a reflective shine instead of the pearly, frosty glow of a glazed donut manicure and a warm, apricot-pink base versus the popular white or soap nails nude. There simply aren't enough synonyms for shiny to adequately describe how lustrous her nails look! (Her blonde highlights are pretty gorgeous too.)

Bachik, who nicknamed the manicure “birthday icing” because of its shiny shimmer, applied medium-length, coffin-shaped tips from Après Nail to Lopez's natural nails, then painted them with the brand's Gel Couleur polish in the pale melon orange shade Cantaloopy. For the glowing, gleaming chrome finish, he used his Cosmic Chrome Powder in the holographic, barely pink hue Aurora, then sealed the mani with a clear top coat.

Lopez, a noted Leo, celebrated her birthday at the end of July in another eye-catching manicure, an opulent Gucci-print set in the brand's signature palette of light brown, red, and green and embellished with snakes, gems, and charms. Both manis perfectly align with the top nail art trends for fall 2025, which include mixed metals, dripping chrome, and understated elegance with a twist.
