In a defining moment for regional diplomacy and global collaboration, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai touched down in New Delhi, India for his first official visit to India on April 8, 2025.

Upon arrival in New Delhi, he was welcomed by Suresh Gopi, India’s Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Tourism. The Crown Prince, known not only for his visionary leadership was received with ceremonial warmth by India’s Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Tourism, Suresh Gopi. His arrival marked the beginning of a visit designed to reinforce the ever-deepening relationship between the UAE and India—two nations linked by shared values, economic ambition, and cultural resonance.

HH Sheikh Hamdan’s engagement with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was a moment of synergy. The two leaders explored the evolving dynamics of the UAE-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, with both emphasizing innovation, opportunity, and prosperity as pillars of the future. Prime Minister Modi lauded Dubai’s pivotal role in shaping a forward-thinking bilateral vision, recognising the Emirate’s influence on global connectivity and commerce.

During his visit, Sheikh Hamdan engaged in discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The leaders emphasized the robust ties between the UAE and India, highlighting their mutual commitment to fostering a future rich in opportunity, innovation, and prosperity. Prime Minister Modi acknowledged Dubai’s pivotal role in enhancing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations.

In addition to meeting with Prime Minister Modi, Sheikh Hamdan held talks with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, focusing on strengthening defense cooperation, including potential co-production and co-development projects. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar also met with the Crown Prince, underscoring the broad spectrum of collaboration between the UAE and India.

Adding, “This special visit reaffirms our deep-rooted friendship and paves the way for even stronger collaboration in the future.”
