Kelsey Grammer may soon be returning to NBC.
20 years after the end of his hit sitcom Frasier, the 71-year-old Emmy-winning actor will be starring in and executive producing the new EMT drama series Pops currently in development at the network, Deadline reports.
The series is being written by longtime Chicago Med writer/producer Danny Weiss.

In Pops, Kelsey will play the titular character, “a man aged out of a successful career who, in desperate need of a fresh start, jumps into the chaotic world of emergency medicine alongside first responders half his age.”
The project is based on the true-life story of Ed Levien, a Maryland resident who became a volunteer EMT in his 60s after a successful career in advertising. Nicknamed “Pops” by his younger colleagues, Levien worked as an EMT for 12 years before retiring last fall at the age of 76.
Earlier this year, Kelsey Grammer admitted he might be making a major career shift in the near future.
