[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I’m very lazy when it comes to hand cream – much as I love the idea of slathering my hands with a hydrating salve, invariably I find them too thick and heavy for comfort. Garden hands are a different thing – they actively need something soothing and very protecting – but day to day, it’s not really necessary to go all in. I’ve been more than impressed with the Margaret Dabbs Repairing Hand Cream that I’ve been using for quite some time.

The bottom line is that I have 60 year old hands that I (now) use SPF on (almost) daily but my hands are definitely a reflection of my age. I really do not care although I have one particular pigmentation spot that I find occasionally annoying, otherwise, I don’t have any hand hang ups. Don’t start me on nails – that’s another matter entirely. The reason that I like the Margarent Dabbs Repairing Hand Cream is that it is light in texture but absolutely performs on hydration, leaving my hands looking and feeling silky. I spotted the hand jewellery that you see in Flying Tiger (£4 HERE) and I do love hand jewellery so brought it home. Once I’d tried it on and absolutely adored it (I mean, £4 – I’d have paid much, much more and it worries me slightly that it’s so cheap) I felt pleased that I’d been paying attention to my hands.

The formula uses Pentavitin which is a plant derived humectant, alongside Vitamin F Forte which is good for dry skin and lipid barriers that are struggling. It’s also used in scalp treatments. Sweet almond oil and glycerin are high on the INCI just following Caprylic/capric triglyceride. The latter is what’s responsible for the lightness of touch in this hand cream – it’s derived from coconut oil and glycerin and is lightweight but replenishing. It has a light, aromatherapy-ish scent that doesn’t linger. I’ve finished using the Leighton Denny nail capsules so have moved onto the Margaret Dabbs Nail & Cuticle Serum but it’s a bit too early to say whether it’s making a difference or not. I feel sure that it will because I’m such a convert to the hand cream – which, big bonus, doesn’t seem to attach itself to my rings (I said I was lazy – I quite often don’t bother to take them off, preferring to wash them once a week or so). So, if you’re over gloopy hand unguents, the Repairing Hand Cream from Margaret Dabbs is a breath of fresh air. It’s £18 HERE and the Nail& Cuticle Serum is £13 HERE.
