Chuck Todd is officially saying goodbye to the peacock.
After nearly 20 years at NBC News, the TV journalist shared insight into a new chapter in his career as he departs from the company.
"Today is my last day at NBC," Chuck began in a Jan. 31 memo to colleagues. "There's never a perfect time to leave a place that's been a professional home for so long, but I'm pretty excited about a few new projects that are on the cusp of going from 'pie in the sky' to 'near reality.'"
The 52-year-old, who began his career at the company in 2007, revealed that he would bring his ChuckToddcast podcast with him. He also stressed not to expect too much to change with his content.
"Thank you, NBC," he wrote. "Stay tuned for an announcement about its new home soon. Needless to say, I do plan to continue to share my reporting and unique perspective of covering politics with data and history as important baselines in understanding where we were, where we are and where we're going."
Reflecting on his time at NBC News, Todd gushed that it "will remain an honor of a lifetime."
"I'm really proud of the work I've done with the incredible team of folks I've been lucky enough to work with over these two decades (and five presidents)," he shared. "The beauty of NBC is that one can't succeed without being an incredible collaborator."
Todd emphasized the fragile state of journalism and politics at the time, which he indicated inspired his decision to move on.
As he put it, "The media has a lot of work to do to win back the trust of viewers/listeners/readers and I'm convinced the best place to start is from the bottom up."

The anchor's exit comes more than a year after he announced his departure from NBC News' Meet The Press, where he was a host and moderator for nearly nine years. (NBC News' Kristen Welker took over the role.)
"It's been an amazing nearly decade-long run," Todd said on the program in June. "I am really proud of what this team and I have built over the last decade, frankly, the last 15 years, which also includes my time as political director. I've loved so much of this job, helping to explain America to Washington and explain Washington to America."
Noting that his successor had been "ready for this for a while, he continued. "I've had the privilege of working with her from essentially her first day and let me just say she's the right person in the right moment."
E! News has reached out to Todd's reps for comment and has not heard back.
