Pete Davidson made a shocking joke about Charlie Kirk at Kevin Hart’s roast
Pete Davidson, one of the participants in The Roast of Kevin Hart, made a controversial joke during his appearance. Davidson joked about late conservative activist and Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk, which appeared to leave even the live audience stunned.
“Tony Hinchcliffe’s here looking like both a child molester and the doll they give the child to show where he touched them,” Davidson said while fellow comedian Tony Hinchcliffe was on the hot seat. “Tony reminds me of Charlie Kirk, in that he’s definitely been on camera letting a guy unload in his throat,” Davidson added. However, the response in the room appeared to suggest that many viewers felt the joke crossed a line.
Charlie Kirk was fatally shot during a speech at Utah Valley University in September. Davidson later referenced the shooting as part of the joke.
“Oh, you don’t know me? Yeah. Yeah. Kill Tony! Please. Someone fucking kill Tony!” Davidson continued while roasting Hinchcliffe. Davidson also joked about Lizzo, Chelsea Handler, and Jeff Ross before moving on to Kanye West.
“Tony, nothing you say tonight will hurt my feelings. I was in a beef with Kanye, so I’ve taken shots from better gay Nazis,” Davidson joked about West. Moving on to Hart, Davidson added, “What can you say about Kevin that hasn’t already been yelled out by a guy with Tourette’s at the BAFTAs?”
Davidson ended his segment by saying, “I love you very much. You’ve always been super nice to me. … You’re a very hardworking person, and when it’s all said and done, in the comedy world, it’s most important to be remembered.”
The Roast of Kevin Hart is now streaming on Netflix.
