It was a touchdown at the box office.

“Project Hail Mary” scored big with theatergoers — landing in the No. 1 spot on its opener Friday and raking in over $33.1 million, according to Box Office Mojo.

The Post hailed the sci-fi adventure flick — starring Ryan Gosling as a science teacher who wakes up alone on a spaceship far from Earth — as “a bona fide summer blockbuster smack dab in the middle of March.”

“Project Hail Mary’s” “enormous appeal starts with star Ryan Gosling,” The Post said. AP

The Amazon MGM Studio film, which reportedly cost a staggering $248 million to produce, is slated to enjoy a $77.1 million three-day weekend opening, as per Deadline.

In second place was the animated sci-fi comedy “Hoppers,” with $5.4 million in revenue on its third Friday in theaters.

“Ready or Not 2: Here I Come,” also released on Friday, took third, with a $3.8 million haul.

The horror-comedy, a sequel to 2019’s “Ready or Not,” “expands mythology we didn’t need expanded,” according to the Guardian.

In fourth was “Dhurandhar The Revenge,” an Indian spy action thriller in the Hindi language, which took in close to $3 million.
