The Red, White & Royal Blue sequel is on the way!

Titled Red, White & Royal Wedding, the forthcoming follow-up to the fan-favorite movie adaptation of Casey McQuiston‘s book was filmed earlier this year, and it’s reportedly set to debut later this year on Prime Video.

While plot details are currently unknown at this time, the story will continue to follow Prince Henry and Alex Claremont-Diaz’s relationship, and the wedding in the title is reportedly about Henry’s sister Bea tying the knot.

Last summer, the first movie’s director, Matthew Lopez, who co-wrote the sequel, teased, “We wanted to honor what people loved about the first film. We wanted to sort of challenge expectations about what comes next. And we want to make sure that we do right by the movie that we made that people really loved.”

During Prime Video’s Obsessed Fest this summer, Casey revealed some more details about the sequel.

“I can tell you something… there’s definitely more domesticity in this movie, because, you know, they’re together now,” she said at a panel. “So, you get to see a little bit of their life at home. I really hope I don’t get in trouble for saying this.”

“I would say it is a couple degrees spicier than the first movie,” she added. “The intimacy is kind of dialed up in a way that is really beautiful and really fun to watch.”

Red, White & Royal Wedding is being directed by Jamie Babbit, with a script by Matthew Lopez, along with Casey McQuiston and Gemma Burgess.
