Last month, Smerz came back with the single “A Thousand Lies.” Now, the Norwegian art-pop duo has shared the details of a forthcoming album. Catharina Stoltenberg and Henriette Motzfeldt’s new album, Big City Life, is out May 23 via Escho. It marks their first traditional studio album since their 2021 debut, Believer.

“Some of the songs are pieces of advice to ourselves,” Smerz said in a statement. “Some are doorways into dreams. Some songs are secret wishes. Some are written for someone who is not here. And some are predictions.”

Smerz have also shared a new song from the album. “You Got Time and I Got Money” is out today, alongside a collagist music video inspired by TV specials, made with frequent collaborators Benjamin Barron and Bror August Vestbø. Watch it below.
