[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I love a gold eye liner – can’t help it. I’m drawn to them like a moth to a flame, so I’m very happy to discover another one in the form of Sweed Golden Beetle Satin Eyeliner. I’ve never had anything from Sweed (yes, it’s a Swedish brand – founded by MUA Gabriella Elio) that I didn’t like so this feels like an easy review.

My current favourites are from Victoria Beckham and Lisa Eldridge – they’re slightly different in that they’re designed to be used on the waterline whereas Sweed Golden Beetle, while it will work on the waterline, is better on the lid or under the lashes. It’s a quite delicious gold shade with just a hint of khaki to it and it’s lustrous, too.

I was also sent the Kohl pencil in Dusty Brown and what a thrill! An anomaly. Since I’m interested in componentry I’m fascinated about how the tip got so pointy from the factory line – it’s too sharp to use but trust me I will have fun blunting it down. It’s not as it should be, obviously, but for all the hundreds of completely boringly perfect kohls I see, this is a delight.

This is quite a full face picture, I know, but I wanted you to be able to see the colours – on my right eye, I’ve got Golden Beetle above, below and on the water line. Some golds are just so pale they make your eyes look a bit rabbity but this is such a sultry colour and it comes to life even more in the sunshine giving depth and vibrancy without shedding a load of shimmer onto your cheeks. I’d recommend it in a heartbeat. If you’re cool toned, there is an equally vibrant silver which you could wear with a navy or black inner rim. Gorgeous!  It’s £21 HERE.
