The 48-year-old actor is one of the original main cast members of the fan-favorite film.
His co-stars reunited on Tuesday night (October 20) for “Dedication Night,” as Julia Stiles dedicated her dance to their late co-star Heath Ledger. Joseph Gordon Levitt, Larisa Oleynik, Andrew Keegan, Susan May Pratt, and Gabrielle Union all attended to support and help pay tribute to the late actor.
After the show, Julia explained why David was not in attendance.

Julia Stiles talks getting the cast back together & why David Krumholtz wasn’t there
In a post-show interview with Entertainment Tonight, Julia shared how she gathered her co-stars for the special reunion.
“I called Joey [Gordon-Levitt] first, and Larisa. Larisa and I have kept in touch, really, in a nice way,” the actress said. “And then Gabby, Susan, Keegan. But, it was like everybody was kind of like, ‘I’ll do it if everybody else does it.’ So, it just took one, you know? And it was so special to have them here. ”
She then shared a “very important PSA” that she had to say “for the record,” explaining why David Krumholtz couldn’t make it.
“David Krumholtz, we wanted him here. He wanted to be here, but he’s working on an HBO show in New York, so there was no way he could fly to Los Angeles,” she shared.

David Krumholtz talks missing 10 Things reunion
The next morning, David shared his own video on Instagram about missing the reunion.
“Good morning. Here I am in the Catskill Mountains, upstate New York, fall foliage in full effect. I am here shooting a film. I could not be in LA for Dancing with the Stars last night. I would have loved, loved, loved to have been there. Everyone looks so amazing,” he said. “Julia‘s tribute to my dear friend who I miss every single day was amazing and stunning, and I’m so proud of her and I thought the cast looked amazing they all look so young still.”
“It would have been weird because I shaved my, what’s left of my hair for, and then it becomes a whole internet fodder. ‘Oh he really, look what happened to him,’ and, ‘Oh he’s really…” David continued. “I didn’t want that, but that’s not why I wasn’t there. I would have dealt with it. Anyway, love them all, love you all.”
What is David filming in New York?
Earlier this summer, David announced he was taking an “indefinite break” from acting, but later clarified that he wasn’t retiring or quitting, just wanting to prioritize his mental health and he was at a crossroads with his career.
However, about six weeks later, it was announced that David joined the cast of the HBO limited series The Trial of Louise Woodward.
According to Deadline, he will portray criminal defense attorney Harvey Silverglate in the series, which “tells the shocking true story of how, in 1997, an 18-year-old British au pair was accused of shaking to death a baby left in her care by her American host family, setting off an international media firestorm as the trial unfolds in full view of both the British and American public.”
A week later, it was also announced that he joined the cast of Benny Safdie‘s new movie Lizard Music in a voice role. Dwayne Johnson will star as The Chicken Man, and he was just seen filming in New York City this week!
In addition to the above upcoming projects, David will next be seen on screen in the movie Mr Irrelevant, which hits theaters on Christmas Day (December 25).
