BTS Jungkook‘s fans are rallying for the “Golden” crooner to “go solo” as they claim the singer is barely getting credits for making history-making records from the music label. Jeon Jung-kook has truly cemented himself as the first K-pop soloist to achieve significant Billboard and Spotify records. But the lack of recognition from his music label, BigHit Music is causing rage among his followers.

On January 13, X (formerly Twitter) was flooded with messages saying, “Jungkook, go solo.” So what made fans demand the singer depart from his beloved music label and go on his journey? The context is fairly simple. BTS’ youngest vocalist recently racked up over 2 billion streams on the song “Seven” on Spotify, becoming the first K-pop soloist to achieve this feat (The Korea Times).

Days later, BTS‘ group song “Dynamite” also reached the 2 billion streams milestone on the same platform. Fans wonder why BigHit Music only shared the record of “Dynamite” but did not post about Jungkook’s record.

Many flocked to BigHit Music’s X account, leaving comments about Jungkook’s astounding achievements. Fans warned BigHit Music that it is high time they highlight all the members’ records fairly and publicize them accordingly.

A fan posted: “Seven” BY JUNGKOOK becomes the FIRST song by K-Pop Act to surpass 2 billion streams in Spotify history. BTS is joining Jungkook! BTS the SECOND K-pop ACT after Jungkook!”

Meanwhile, Jungkook’s Billboard Hot 100 topper song, “Seven” has gained several significant achievements apart from its Spotify 2 billion milestone. The song got 2x Platinum certifications both in the United States and Canada. It made a new Guinness Book of World Records as the fastest song to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify.

Korean Media reported that Jungkook showed off his GLOBAL PRESENCE by receiving a 'GOLD' certification in ??? Belgium for selling over 20,000 copies of his solo single 'Seven'.

Overall, Jungkook boasts two multiple Guinness Book of World Records just with his song “Seven.” He was the fastest male singer to rack up 100 Million streams on Spotify with the track.

Apart from his musical achievements, Jungkook also gained significant momentum at the box office with his documentary film, I Am Still, in 2024. The singer’s docu-film became the eighth highest-grossing concert movie of all time in International Box Office history, gaining over $15.7 million dollars from ticket sales.

He joined pop icons like Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Madonna, and Beyoncé as the only solo singers in history to surpass $10 million in international box office revenue for a Concert Performance Movie.
