Alexander Skarsgard has the support of his dad on the red carpet!

The 50-year-old Emmy-winning actor was joined by dad Stellan Skarsgard at a screening of his new movie Wicker on Tuesday night (October 13) held at AMC Lincoln Square 13 in New York City.

For the event, Alexander wore a cheeky “Lick My Worm” T-shirt under a black suit.

Fellow cast members in attendance included Olivia Colman, Elizabeth Debicki, and Peter Dinklage. Co-directors and co-writers Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor Wilson were also at the event.

What is Wicker about?

Here’s the official synopsis:

An audacious comedic fable about sex, marriage, and the absurdities of social convention, WICKER tells the wholly original love story of an ostracized fisherwoman (Colman) who commissions a husband to be made by the local basketmaker (Dinklage). When her wicker husband (Skarsgård) proves more spectacular than she ever imagined, his soulful spirit and unique prowess awaken something inside her, setting off a wave of jealousy, fascination, and upheaval that threatens the very fabric of village life.

Alexander talks wearing wicker prosthetics for the movie

In a statement to EW, Alexander poked some fun at wearing prosthetics made of wicker while filming the movie.

“Most male actors dream of playing Hamlet at some point in their career. I never did,” he joked. “My dream was always to have nipples made out of wicker. Thanks to our wonderful directors, Eleanor and Alex, and the brilliant artists at Weta in New Zealand, my dream has finally come true.”

In her own statement, Olivia called the movie “one of the best and most original scripts I’d read in a long time.”

“Alex is funny, intelligent, and beautiful anyway — in the wicker costume, he’s breathtaking,” she continued. “Everything is exaggerated; he’s a work of art. Alex fills the Wicker Husband with a beautiful soul.”

When will Wicker be released?

Wicker hits select theaters on October 23, with a wider release on October 30. Watch the wild first trailer here!
